Since it's release, 'Recovered, Not Cured...', has:
-Been released in Australia and New Zealand, North America, and made available worldwide freely online,
-Received a 'Highly Commended' in the non-fiction section from the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Comission, 2003,
-Received SANE Australia's 'Book of the Year', 2004, (SANE are a national non-Government funded advocacy organization in Australia whom I am also an official speaker and consumer representative for),
-Only recently been translated into Japanese, and has only just been released there, which I am most excited about!
-Its condensed version has been made into a 5 part radio series, that I read in the 'first person', for ABC National here in Australia, which has been played nationally more than once!
-They have kindly given me permission to release this audio story, (which I might add, is very helpful for those who's illness makes it hard to read), free of charge, on my personal website, www.richiemclean.com.
Since the writing and publication of my art-autobiographical novel concerning my recovery from schizophrenia, I have:
-Been a National and International speaker and advocate on the subject of mental health advocacy, personally, publically, and for SANE Australia, and an area Mental Health Service,
-Exhibited my artwork Australia wide and also in Montreal, Canada,
-Spoken in Australian Parliament, Canberra, putting 'Schizophrenia on the Political Frontline', (RE: The tragic Cornelia Rau issue),
-Spoken to Anthropogists, Psychiatrists, other consumers, carers, and philosophy students, at one of the worlds most famous educational institutions, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
-Speaking multiple times in Montreal, on my experience with schizophrenia, my recovery, and the philosophical nature of the creative process in the context of holistic recovery.
