This is a composite image using techniques of the 'Golden Mean', as taught to me by Melbourne Artist Rick Amor.

A project that asked to make something out of a very plain looking park-leading to the notion that its the execution of an idea and not the subject that is really important.

A sketch from a photo, its immediacy to me seems to capture something of the emotion. I have used this image in other computer generated work.

A quick self-portrait. This must be the expression I have while drawing! People always say that I tend to draw my subjects 10 years in advance. I think its a feeling of intuition about being born into suffering. (In a Buddhist ethic)

This was a figure/portrait study of a spectacurlarly traditionally beautiful lady. I really like the space conveyed across the armchair.

A study of the skeleton, it was nearly purchased for a hip replacement company, yet it seems the skeletal position is a little 'dead'!

Fairly illustrative, this sketch is one of a great deal I have done at the intersection of Spencer St and Flinders Streets in Melbourne. I cite Red Grooms as an influence for this type of drawing.

Drawings encompass gouche paint too.

In the vein of Dobell, I accentuated this portrait with charicature-which begs the question-is it fine art or illustration? I think there is a fine line!

An interesting experiment to do an immediate sketch and try to allow the music you hear the model playing to influence your lines.

I tend to like the weight conveyed in this sketch which is why I included it in this section.

I have always liked the medium of watercolor, and this is my parents backyard. This particular day I did two sketches-and the light and shadow tend to describe the scene two hours apart.

Traditional drawing, as I have been trained at Victorian College of the Arts, has always served as a good vehicle for understanding fundamentals such as form and space, immediacy and sustained work, and is something I always go back to, and include as composite components in my computer enhanced work.

I am available for drawing commissions.
